Gala premiere of 23:59

I won a pair of tickets to '23:59' from Radio1003… Finally got to watch the gala premiere with Baby this time cos the show is pretty late at night unlike those early timings for preview screenings

--- Poster of 23:59 ---

The setting of the movie is at one of the most infamous islands in Singapore, Pulau Tekong where the Singapore Armed Force recruits spend their 3-4 months in basic military training.

I find the storyline is weak which leads to a lot of loop-holes and this movie is pretty short to be exact is less than 80mins only. '23:59' is lacking in horror elements as there are no creepy scenes or gore thrills and personally I find that there is a lack of thereof.

2/5

I do admit that the filmmakers are trying their best to keep the genre as a horror movie. Oh well, luckily Mark Lee who acts as the platoon sergeant brings up some noteworthy scenes for the audience because the movie without him around would be relatively boring.

I had the pleasure of watching the gala premiere all thanks to Radio1003. '23:59' will be releasing islandwide on the 3 November 2011
