I am on the RWS invites guest list

Both Baby and I are mad about food, especially those which are authentic and delicious... We go around searching for food in Singapore and even places in Malaysia, like Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and even Kota Kinabalu to seek yummy food haunts...

'RWS invites' organized an exclusive food sampler event - Eat-All-You-Can Buffet at Malaysian Food Street. Eat as much as you want from 17 stalls which boast some well-known names and tasty dishes...

Baby and I went for the RWS invites event/buffet sampler...

Upon stepping into the Malaysian Food Street, I felt that I have been transported back to the nostalgic old towns... Delicious selections of famous street fare from various parts of the Peninsula state...

We simply indulged ourselves with the wide variety of mouth-watering authentic Malaysian dishes and the unique old town ambience under one roof...

Our first stop - Penang Lim Brothers’ Char Koay Teow

The Lim Brothers are synonymous with this tasty and well-loved dish of fragrant noodles skilfully fried in soya sauce that needs no introduction.

Penang Ah Mei Hokkien Prawn Mee

The secret to the delightfully flavorful Ah Mei Hokkien Prawn Mee lies in the use of fresh fried prawn shells and homemade chilli mix to prepare the broth.

Malacca Chicken Rice Ball

One of Malacca‘s signature dishes, the fragrant, bite-sized Chicken Rice Balls is a must-have with juicy, tender steamed chicken. Pair this mouthwatering dish with the flavorful garlic chilli sauce that has a special hint of tangy calamansi and lime for a perfect meal.

Petaling Jaya Dim Sum & Drinks

Classic Dim Sum to satisfy our cravings...

Malaysia-style Chee Cheong Fun with soft beancurd skin drenched in curry sauce...

Kampung Nasi Lemak (Halal)

Nasi Lemak, one of Malaysia’s national bestsellers, has won many over with its simple yet delicious flavour. The mainstays of this humble halal dish include moist coconut-flavoured rice, traditional sambal chilli ikan bilis, which is served together with tender chicken or chunks

KL Wanton Mee

Penang Cuttlefish Kang Kong

The Kuala Lumpur version has its noodles drenched in a rich dark soy sauce mix, coupled with a good serving of tender Char Siew, green vegetables and tasty minced pork wantons that complete this wholesome favourite.

Penang Cuttlefish Kang Kong boasts chewy sliced cuttlefish and fresh green kang kong drizzled with traditional sweet sauce. With a sprinkle of fragrant sesame and crushed peanuts, this unique Malaysian dish promises a delightful gastronomic experience.

Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice

The entire claypot of chicken rice is thoroughly cooked and to keep its distinct traditional taste, Heun Kee uses a unique heated charcoal cover and each generously filled claypot is carefully tended over a charcoal flame which has been a recipe of their for the past 25 years in business. Relish this delectable dish that contains a mix of three different kinds of rice for a soft fluffy texture, and the delicious salted fish soaked in fragrant sesame oil with a hint of Chinese wine.

Baby loves Claypot Chicken Rice...

See, how serious he was when he was stirring the rice? Hahaha!!

KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee

Chef at work (:

With a recipe perfected over 30 years, KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee is renowned for its dark sauce that infuses the noodles with a fragrant aroma and paired with the freshest ingredients, making it one of Kuala Lumpur’s signature dishes.

Petaling Street Famous Porridge (since 1949)

The fresh sweetness in the raw fish, Petaling Street Famous Porridge uses family recipes that were handed down over 3 generations. Each pot is cooked and tended with great care...

Desserts

We ended our meal on a sweet note with the famous Penang Cendol - freshly made green cendol jelly and red beans on shaved ice, drizzled with fragrant coconut milk and dark brown sugar.

We had a hearty meal at the Malaysian Food Street (MFS)... We tried so many food in one go, I personally prefer some dishes : The Raw Fish Congee from Petaling Street Famous Porridge, Dark Sauce Fried Hokkien Mee from KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee, Kampung Nasi Lemak, Penang’s famous Char Koay Teow and Malaysia-style Curry Chee Cheong Fun...

A great event for food lovers like us... Malaysian Food Street, this is definitely one dining destination not to be missed.
