Dinner at Melben Seafood

Baby and I are seafood lovers, especially crabs... There are a lot of ways to prepare the crabs, the most common ones being Chilli Crabs, Black Pepper Crabs, White Pepper Crabs, Salted Egg Crabs and even Creamy Butter Crabs. The most uncommon one is Claypot Bee Hoon Soup Crab...

There is no surprise for Singaporeans to hear about Melben Seafood, as all of us know that Melben Seafood which is located in Ang Mo Kio serves great Cze Char food items and most importantly, they are well-known for their Claypot Bee Hoon Soup Crab. The queue is always horrendous but many customers still sacrifice their time and comfort just to have a bite of their famous Claypot Bee Hoon Soup Crab. Luckily, they opened another outlet at Toa Payoh to relieve the crowd...

Baby and I went to the outlet in Toa Payoh, and we queued about 15mins, which I guess could be considered pretty short based on the stories I've heard. Perhaps it's because there's just the two that's explain why we got our table in short time without reservation.

I was greeted by the display deco... Greetings were written on the crab shells and they are framed up.

Thai Style Fried Chicken, bears another name on the menu called, 'Playboy Chicken'. With this unique name, it is classified under one of the signature house entree. The breaded chicken was well deep-fried and they tasted good and crispy... I love the topped sour mango and cucumber slices...

We ordered the Claypot Bee Hoon Soup Crab, which is what everybody was there for... The thick and smooth Bee Hoon matched perfectly with the rich crab-flavoured soup. The crab flesh was fresh and tasted sweet and the soup was very delicious. I savoured every bit of the soup.

We slurped at the slippery bee hoon, which was cooked to perfection and every mouthful of the soup is a literal burst of flavors in the mouth.

This is a MUST TRY dish for everyone who visits Melben Seafood... In my humble opinion, Melben Seafood might not be the best place in Singapore but they are definitely one of the most popular food haunts for the crab lovers.

The damage was SGD62. I think is pretty reasonable as the crab is really huge and for good quality and taste is worth the money...
