Vacation : Kota Kinabalu's food gems!!

My trip down to Kota Kinabalu (KK) was fruitful, we saw nice scenery which had clear blue water and experienced a laid back feeling of shopping in the Sunday Market and the most important thing is that we are able to taste some of the best food in KK... Both Baby and I are food lovers thus we are mad about food...

There is only one flight available each day to Kota Kinabalu by AirAsia... Before leaving Singapore, we bought a bottle of Johnny Walker DOUBLE BLACK at the Departure Transit @ Terminal 1, for some chill-out sessions during our stay in KK...

The total flying time from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu is about 2hrs & 25mins... We reached Kota Kinabalu, Capital City of Sabah at around 8plus... We did not have our dinner during the flight, therefore we headed for dinner straight as we arrived KK...

We shared the famous Penang Char Kway Tiao @ RM5.

We had Western for our dinner... I got myself Fish & Chip @ RM15, it tasted fabulous and the portion was generous.

Baby had Medium Rare Steak @ RM25. Our dinner was affordable and we enjoyed it very much...

Meehoon Fish Soup for our Morning brekkie...

Baby ordered the Mixed Fish Meehoon Soup...

I had the dry version... The fried meehoon was fragrant (:

The soup was uber delicious... I savoured every bit of the soup, and I love it soooooo much.

We shared the Fried Platter... Fried Wanton tasted good!!

I am not into beef as I don't like the strong smell, but I simply enjoyed the Beef Noodles very much in KK... I had the dry version, and the meehoon and soup was served separately...

The soup was tasty, the ingredients were generous. We paid RM9 per bowl...

How Lee Restaurant, a great place for dinner and late supper... They serve great Seafood Porridge in Claypot and Deep Fried Intestines...

It was pretty crowded, but we got a table in barely less than 5mins, as most of the locals will move on once they are done with their meal, I love this KIND of attitude!!

We had the signature dish, Seafood Porridge in Claypot at this eatery place... OM!! The texture of the congee was so smooth that you can simply swallow down the porridge without chewing. The congee was awesome as a whole, two thumbs up!!

From the look, the noodles looked normal, but it was REALLY tasty, Baby enjoyed Gan Lao Mian very much, so I gave him some of my share too...

Steamed Spare Ribs with Fermented Bean Paste is worth a mention as I truly enjoyed eating this dish, the gravy whipped up my appetite...

We had Deep Fried Intestine, this dish is one of the popular dish from this eatery place...

The damage was RM75... A very affordable dinner yet pleasure to our stomach...

Our dinner was sumptuous on the last night in KK, we went to Seremban Seafood Restaurant... We have been craving for a crabby feast all the time while we are in KK...

Braised Pork Belly with preserved vegetable was yummy, but it is pretty sinful if you are watching your diet/weight. The meat tasted heavenly delicious and you will feel like getting more despite the meat covering a thick layer of fats...

Healthy greenies for all of us...

Salted Egg Crabs... The shell was crispy and the flesh tasted sweet, the freshness of the crabs won us over. OM! So dreamy (:

This was the highlight of the entire meal, Steamed Fish in Hong Kong Style... All I can say that is that the fish is R.E.A.L.L.Y FRESH... The sauce was fragrant and it enhanced a better taste for the fish meat and for our white rice too...

As our flight was in the afternoon, we woke up pretty early to go to the Sunday Market @ Gaya Street... It took us only 15mins to reach the Sunday Market from where we were staying...

Old Town White Coffee is located directly opposite the Sunday Market, we decided to go there for a quick brekkie... Free wi-fi was available in the eatery place, good place to chill-out for tourists!!

I had Ipoh Hor Fun, it cost me RM7.90 (less than SGD4)... It was way cheaper in Malaysia as compared to the Singapore outlets. The taste and the generosity of ingredients were kinda on par...

We spent too much time at the Sunday Market, and we needed to rush back to do our last minute packing with the new loots we got from the Sunday Market...

Time was running out for us, so we settled at an eatery place which was about 5 mins from the airport to have our lunch...

Char Siew and Chicken Meat Noodles, a pretty decent lunch for us!!

We were so happy with ourselves because we managed to eat so much yummy food during our trip to Kota Kinabalu... I know that we will be back again for more inexpensive shopping and makan-ing...
