Food Review : The Bazaar

I went for an exotic food tasting last week at eastern side of Singapore, and now I want to share a brand new eatery place is located in Katong area that offers wide selection of delicious and authentic Northern Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes...

This is my first ever food review on Indian cuisine, here you go, I was at The Bazaar for my food tasting. It opened its doors for business 2 weeks ago, and it is definitely a pleasure for me to try out their signature dishes before anybody does.

The owner of the restaurant is from India and she has been in Singapore for 8 years. Being a native Indian, she introduces some popular Northern-Indian dishes into her restaurant for her customers to have a taste of Indian delicacies in her premises and also offers the expatriates from Indian to taste back the homeland cuisines.

I ordered a refreshing yogurt drink, Mango Lassi.

Poppadams is MUST accompaniment in any Northern-Indian restaurants... The Poppadams which served in The Bazaar were crispy just like thin crackers, they were pretty addictive, but somewhat they were too spicy for me to handle.

We tried out their signature vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers...

The Samosa who here are way bigger than the serving from other restaurants. They were served with two dips (peppermint and turmeric) I like the turmeric best as it gives a sweet taste to my taste buds.

Tandoori Aloo, they are mainly Stuffed Potatoes and they tasted pretty good. Chicken Tikka was nicely done, and the meat is tender and juicy.

I will never missed out ordering the Naan (oven-baked flat-bread) whenever I had Indian food.

Garlic Naan was delicious and Onion-Chilli Kulcha tasted pretty good too.

Here come the mains to go with our naans... I like the Veg Jhal Frezi and Fish Amritsari best.

Veg Jhal Frezi

Paneer Butter Masala

Butter Chicken

Chicken Tikka Masala

Fish Amritsari

How can we forget the most popular Indian rice, Basmati during this food tasting session and YES! We tried out Veg, Biryani and Dum Biryani (Chicken). Both of them tasted pretty good, however we were all too full to tuck in more into our tummies.
Desserts were served to complete our meal...

Gulab Jamun is a popular dessert in India. It is made of milk dough, and it was rolled into a ball together with some flour and then deep fried, but at a low temperature, lasty put into sugar syrup and serve. Gulab Jamun is a dessert often eaten at festivals or major celebrations like wedding.

Gulab Jamun with Vanilla Ice-cream. I like the new creation.

Rice Pudding, it is not my cup of tea, as I find it pretty weird to my liking.

Lastly Masala Tea and Bazaar’s Coffee was served to help us to digest down to food intake during the wonderful food tasting hosted by The Bazaar.

We ended our food tasting at The Bazaar with a group photo
