[picture blog] Japan trip: Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum

We took a train from Shinjuku station (a short distance from our hotel), on the Shonan Shinjuku Line which offers a direct connection to Yokohama and the travelling time is around 30 minutes and it cost us 550Yen per trip.

Yes! We are visiting the Yokohama Anpanman Children's Museum! It is an interactive museum dedicated to the popular Japanese cartoon character, Anpanman.

Anpanman is a superhero whose head is made of red bean paste which is known as Anpan in Japanese.

There is a gift shop in the museum, where you can find many Anpanman and friends related products.

They also sell snacks which feature Anmanpan and his friends. Apart from light snacks, there are  restaurants attached to the museum as well as sales of food gift sets that are available too...

We went to Uncle Jam Bakery, which is also known as Jam Ojisan to get some freshly baked buns.

In the bakery shop, they sell different types of character buns at a fixed price of 310Yen.

As Halloween is around the corner, they specially made some skeleton head buns too.

Baby got himself his favorite Sweet Red Bean Paste (Anpan) bun, and I picked up the Maple Syrup bun.

Apart from selling the buns on the first level, the bakery also has a sit-in cafe on the second level, so we brought our bread up to the cafe area to have them with some drinks.

I love the drink art of Anpanman!

I had an enjoyable time at the museum. Stay tuned for my next post on the sightseeing in Yokohama.
