[launch event at Plaza Singapura] Enhanced DBS Multiplier Account + TwentyThirty.com

DBS has launched a new lifestyle platform for the tech savvy! Digital banking is now complemented by human connection, and I was glad to be part of the celebrations for the launch of said event at Plaza Singapura. This outlet has an open concept that is furnished with tables and chairs for patrons to chill/hang out with friends while doing bank transactions!

I love the 'Café within a banking branch' concept, which DBS created. Essentially, it is the bank with its usual facilities but with a 'Café' twist! By having this niche concept, a relaxed atmosphere is created for all customers, and I'm very certain everyone would be delighted to be greeted by the welcoming aroma of freshly brewed coffee when entering a bank!

There is a cosy lifestyle corner which features an industry-first VR corner for retirement planning, and patrons will be fully guided on how to go about planning for their retirement. During the event, we made use of this space for photo-taking!

At the branch, Cash Services Machines are conveniently located at the outlet, and they serve both cash deposits and withdrawals. 

We got to meet up with 'Pepper', the Humanoid Robot. Pepper's function at the outlet is to guide patrons on how to go about using the VTMs! Currently, there are 13 VTMs in 12 locations in Singapore and DBS is planning to install more than 20 machines by the end of 2017.

Besides being a usual cash machine, the Video Teller Machine (VTM) offers non-cash banking services 24 hours a day! Things such as issuance/replacement of Internet banking tokens and debit cards are now done in an instant, at any time!

DBS launched TwentyxThirty, an online initiative for young adults, and it is a hub that provides quality content that is of relevance to one's everyday living. TwentyxThirty provides young adults with useful information to help get them through their daily grind. The website covers topics like achieving your adulating milestones, career advice, money matters, as well as everything from travel to entertainment.

DBS also launched the enhanced DBS Multiplier Account, making it easier for them to qualify for higher interest rates on their account balances, with no minimum salary crediting amount and no minimum credit card spend. This is definitely an easier way to multiply your money!

This programme was first introduced in 2014, and since its launch, the DBS Multiplier Account has seen an average account growth of 30% year-on-year. In order to have a better understanding of a young adult's financial needs and preferences, DBS conducted a survey with close to 1,000 young adults in Singapore. DBS discovered that many young adults felt that managing their finances took up a lot of their time, while some of them felt that it was too complicated, and was a barrier to achieving their financial goals, as they viewed it as being tied down by certain conditions.

With the enhanced DBS Multiplier Account, young adults need not worry about fulfilling restricted conditions, in order to enjoy higher interest rates on their account balances. DBS also lowering the minimum threshold for total eligible transactions to SGD2000 and the enhanced DBS Multiplier Account allows more young adults to qualify for higher interest rates, starting from the time they enter the workforce. It will allow more young adults to benefit from the higher interest rates as they take up relevant financial services based on their changing needs. DBS understands the need for flexibility in how young adults manage their finances. Therefore they can achieve their financial and life goals at an early stage in life!
